Apparently today the Home Office are going to be discussing whether juries will be allowed to hear if a prosecutee has previous convictions during a trial. I can answer that right now. NO! I think it's a bloody stupid idea. Of course it would prejudice a jury and just because someone has form it doesn't mean that they've done what they're being accused of. Last time I checked in this country we're innocent until proven guilty. I'd rather guilty people went free occasionally (and they undoubtedly do) than innocent people were imprisoned (as they sometimes are). Yes it happens already but I feel injustice would increase if this idea were to go ahead. Trials are about a specific incident, not a whole lifetime. I'll stand down off my soapbox now.

Warning: Chris Evans and Chris Moyles are teaming up to do a tv show. Thank feck it's on Channel 5 and I'll have absolutely no way of seeing it.
